# How to install iNfeel Woven

iNfeel Woven is always laid with vinyl flooring adhesive, on a clean, dry, crack-free subfloor, at 18 °C or more and with 30 to 60% air humidity. It is not suitable for wet areas. It can be walked on after 24 hours; wait 72 before the first deep clean and before bringing in furniture.

## Before you start

- iNfeel Woven is not suitable for wet areas.
- It is a woven material, so its structure is naturally irregular. Use material from the same production batch.
- Before you start, inspect the material under good light. Damaged or faulty material must never be fitted: if you spot a flaw, tell your supplier.

### Tools

- Seam roller of at least 75 kg
- Masking tape (Werner Mueller 50000 or equivalent)
- Cutter or rotary cutter
- Pencil for marking

### Materials

- Vinyl flooring adhesive
- Cold-weld liquid

## The subfloor

- Clean, dry and free of cracks. Remove paint and oil stains, anything that stops the adhesive from bonding, and dust.
- If a levelling compound is used, the recommended flatness is no more than ±3 mm over 2 m and ±1.2 mm over 0.25 m.
- Highly or unevenly absorbent subfloors are primed with flooring adhesive diluted 1:4, which must be completely dry before laying.
- Over existing plastic, linoleum or wood flooring, each case is assessed on its own. Any paint is removed.
- The relative humidity of the concrete must not exceed 85%, measured by trained staff, and the back of the material must be protected from moisture rising from the floor.
- With pipes or underfloor heating, the material must not be kept above 30 °C continuously.
- Always mark with a pencil: marker pens can stain.

## In rolls

1. Fit at 18 °C or more and with 30 to 60% air humidity. With more humidity, the adhesive takes longer to dry and blisters can form.
2. Always use vinyl flooring adhesive, on absorbent subfloors too, and roll it so that all the material is in contact with the adhesive.
3. Lay the lengths in the same direction, following the arrow on the back, and avoid cross joints: the pattern cannot be matched. Allow for incoming light and high-traffic areas.
4. Overlap the lengths and double-cut them for a tight seam. Mark where each seam goes.
5. Go over the floor with a seam roller of at least 75 kg.
6. Before cold-welding the seams, wait for the adhesive to dry (12 to 24 hours) and make sure there is no adhesive in the seam.
7. Lay masking tape over the seam and press it down by hand or with a roller. Do a test seam first.
8. Cut the tape along the seam with a rotary cutter or a straight knife.
9. Shake the tube of cold-weld liquid and apply it with the needle pushed well into the seam, leaving a band of about 5 mm of liquid on the tape.
10. After about 10 minutes, peel the tape back carefully.

## In tiles

1. Let the tiles, the adhesive and the floor reach room temperature, at least 18 °C, with the boxes on a level surface. With full pallets this can take several days.
2. Draw two axes through the centre of the floor and adjust where they cross so the cut tiles are spread evenly along each edge. Cut tiles must never be less than half a tile.
3. Choose the layout: quarter-turned in a chequerboard; all in the same direction with continuous joints; or brick bond, offset by half a tile. Unless they are quarter-turned, mix the tiles first, because the weave has natural variations in shade.
4. Spread the adhesive from where the axes cross, following the adhesive maker's instructions, and lay the first tile there. Work from the centre towards the wall opposite the door.
5. Check often that the tiles are straight and that all four sides line up.
6. Roll in two passes: first the joints with the small roller, then the whole floor with the large, heavy roller.

- On raised access floors, the panels must be level, the tiles are laid at random over them and a tackifier is advisable, so they can be lifted.

## After fitting

1. Leave the floor free of adhesive and installation debris.
2. In normal-traffic areas, wait 24 hours before using the room.
3. Wait 72 hours before the first deep clean and before bringing in or arranging furniture.
4. Fit felt pads to the furniture. Never rubber ones: the oil in rubber stains the floor permanently.
