How to install iNfeel
iNfeel goes on indoors over a dry, clean, smooth surface. You cut it with a margin, position it by peeling back about 5 cm of the adhesive liner and fix it with a plastic squeegee, working from the centre out to the edges. On curved furniture, the film is warmed before it is stretched.

Before you start
- The manufacturer recommends fitting it with the air and the surface between 20 and 25 °C, and never below 11 °C.
- Store it somewhere cool and dry and fit it within a year of purchase. In cold weather the film can crack when handled.
- On wood or metal, the manufacturer says to sand with 180-grit paper and apply the dedicated iNfeel primer.
Tools
- Plastic squeegee
- Cutter
- Heat gun
- Gloves
Materials
- iNfeel film
- Primer, on plasterboard or walls not painted for years
Walls and flat surfaces
- Check that the wall is clean and smooth. Fill any dips and sand them afterwards. On plasterboard or walls that have not been painted for years, apply a coat of primer.
- Measure the height and width of the surface and cut the iNfeel 4 cm longer than the height, as a margin for any unevenness.
- Mark several reference points along the surface. Start on the side opposite the door, so the overlaps cannot be seen as you walk in.
- Peel back about 5 cm of the adhesive liner, place the film on the marks and press lightly, so it can be repositioned if needed.
- Once it is in place, fix it with the plastic squeegee at 45°, always from the centre outwards, peeling the liner away as you go. Press firmly on edges, corners and joints.
- Go over the edges and corners again with the squeegee and trim the excess in a single cut with the cutter, using the edge of the squeegee as a guide.
Furniture and curved surfaces
- Measure the surface and cut the film with a margin of about 10 cm all round.
- Warm the whole curve evenly, keeping the heat moving and at least about 10 cm away.
- Stretch the film zone by zone and in order, steadily and gradually, so it does not distort or wrinkle.
- Wrap 2 to 5 cm onto the underside as well, so the covering holds more firmly.
- Trim the excess film at the back.
Joints between sheets
- Lay the second sheet over the first until the pattern lines up or, if there is no pattern to match, with an overlap of about 3 mm. Carry on the same way with the rest.
Corners and edges
- Cut the material and peel the liner off the part that goes on the larger face. Position the film and press with the squeegee from the centre outwards.
- Form the corner by pressing along it with the pad of your thumb. Gloves are recommended for this.
- Peel off the rest of the liner and carry on as for a flat surface. Trim the excess carefully, holding the cutter at an angle.
Doors
- Remove the moving parts, such as handles and hinges. Wipe the door with a damp cloth, especially anywhere there may be grease, and dry it completely.
- Sand the door, so it still closes properly and the covering lasts.
How to remove it
iNfeel is not designed to be peeled off: its adhesive grips strongly on almost any surface. Where possible, the guide recommends applying a new layer over it rather than removing it. If not:
- Make lengthwise cuts about 20 cm apart, without damaging the surface underneath.
- Warm it with a heat gun, starting at the bottom and evenly over the whole surface, to soften the adhesive.
- Pull each strip away gradually, from the bottom up, with a steady zigzag movement.
Questions
- What surfaces can iNfeel go on?
- On any indoor surface that is dry, clean and smooth: furniture, wardrobes, doors, walls, kitchens, bathrooms and lifts, according to the installation guide.
- Does iNfeel have to be removed to renew it?
- No. Where possible, the guide recommends applying a new layer over it rather than removing the existing one.
- At what temperature should it be fitted?
- The manufacturer recommends the air and the surface to be between 20 and 25 °C, and never below 11 °C.
- Does Decoblu fit the film?
- No. Decoblu sells the material. For technical questions about fitting it: info@decoblugroup.com.
